Why can't I edit banners and day breaks globally?
Text banners and day breaks live on the individual stripboard (board) you add them to, and that's by design. As an AD you're usually working several versions of a schedule at once, and each one needs its own days and its own notes. If banners and day breaks were global, a change on one board would ripple into all the others and break them.
Think about how you actually schedule:
Different stripboard versions of the same show (a what-if reschedule, a compressed version, a producer's version, or separate unit and block boards) almost never break to days the same way. Day 3 on one version is not Day 3 on another, so each board carries its own day breaks, with its own day count and auto-calculated durations.
Different schedules and productions need their own text banners. A company move, a lunch, a changeover, or a note on one board is specific to that plan; you don't want it appearing on a different version, or on a different show.
Keeping banners and day breaks on their own board is exactly what lets you build and compare versions side by side without one overwriting another. So if a banner or day break looks locked or greyed out, it's because you're looking at it from a different board than the one it lives on. Open that board to edit, move, or delete it.
The look is reusable too, and assigned per board
The content of each banner and day break is per-board. The design (fields, fonts, colors, and layout) lives in reusable templates, so you don't restyle boards by hand, but you still control it per board, because each board is assigned its own layout and color palette. Boards can share the same layout and palette, or each can use a different one.
Assign a layout and palette to a board: use the Layouts and Colors dropdowns at the top of the board. See Layouts / Calendar / Color Drop-Down.
Banner and day-break design and fields: edit the layout in the Layout Manager (pick the layout, then the Day break or Start of day tab). Every board assigned that layout updates together; to give one board a different look, assign it a different layout.
Default text banner and default day-break banner, plus colors and borders: set these on the color palette in the Color Palette Manager and the Color Manager (open Color Manager > Borders to show, hide, or customize borders). Each board shows the defaults from the palette assigned to it.
So the design is reusable without being forced to match: edit a layout or palette once and every board using it updates, and assign a different layout or palette when a board needs a different look.
