Cinapse's Reports Manager lets you generate production reports (shooting schedules, one-liners, DooDs, and more) and control exactly how they look before you generate them. This guide covers creating a report, customizing it, previewing, saving, and exporting.
Open Reports
Click Reports in the top navigation. The Reports home screen has two tabs, Saved reports (organized in folders) and Report presets, plus two buttons in the top-right: Report layouts (design custom headers/footers) and Create (new folder, new report, batch-generate from presets, or upload a file).
Making the same reports every day? See Report presets & batch-generating reports.
Create a report
Click Create > New report to open the report builder: a configuration panel on the left, a toolbar on top, and a live PDF preview on the right that updates as you make changes.
Start with the four fields at the top of the sidebar:
- Report name (e.g. "Ep. 601–602 Master Shooting Schedule")
- Report type: Shooting Schedule, One-Liner, Day Out of Days, Breakdown, Calendar, List, Category-by-Day, and more
- Board: which board to pull data from
- Calendar: which calendar to use
Customize your report
Below the basics are collapsible sections:
- Print options: paper size (Letter, A4, Legal, Tabloid), orientation (portrait or landscape), pagination (Continuous or Per day), and Grayscale (black and white).
- Report layout: the header/footer layout to apply, whether to repeat the header/footer on every page, and the font (Inter, Roboto, Source Serif, Noto Sans, Courier Prime, Tinos, or Arimo).
- Strips: strip layout, color palette, hide padding between strips, and show unscheduled strips.
- Elements (on element-based reports like the Shooting Schedule): element text size, number of columns, show element quantities, lock category positions, and which categories to show (Cast, Background, Props, Vehicles, Wardrobe, and more). Other report types swap this for their own section: the One-Liner has a Header board, the Calendar report has Calendar options, and the List and Category-by-Day reports have a Category picker.
- Visibility options: which stripboard items appear (day breaks, unit breaks, text banners, start-of-day banners). Showing red and orange flags on reports is rolling out per report type (live on some, coming soon on others).
- Date/Day Range: limit the report by calendar date or by shoot day.
- Filters: build layered rules to show or hide strips. Add individual rules (by Episode, Elements, Cast, Location, etc.) and nest them in groups with AND/OR logic, and toggle between "Show only strips where" and "Hide all strips where." (Example: to show only Episode 602 strips where Richard or Gavin appear at Summit Drive, build three AND rules.)
Tip: bump the font (Report layout) or element text size for readable set printouts, and use a smaller size for on-screen review.
Toolbar & live preview
The top toolbar has quick controls: Board & Calendar selectors, a layout selector, color scheme, zoom, Save / load preset, and Save report. The live PDF preview on the right updates in real time; check paper size, filters, legibility, and page breaks before you generate.
Save, print & export
- Click Save report to save it into your Saved reports (organized in folders).
- Right-click any saved report for quick actions, including Download as PDF and Export as CSV.
- To print, open the preview / download the PDF and print from there.
Report layouts (custom headers & footers)
From the Reports home screen, click Report layouts (top-right) to create or edit layouts. Headers can show the report title, show name, creation timestamp, and custom fields; footers show page numbers. When building a report, pick your layout under Report layout > Header / footer layout. Setting layouts up early keeps styling consistent across all your reports.
