The Breakdown Summary report

Generate a Breakdown Summary in Cinapse: a per-scene breakdown of elements, with optional reference images and weather. Here's what its settings do.

The Breakdown Summary report lists each scene with its breakdown of elements (cast, background, props, and more), and can include the reference images and weather for each scene. It's a handy scene-by-scene reference for departments.

Generate a Breakdown Summary

  1. Click Reports in the top navigation, then Create > New report.
  1. Set the Report type to Breakdown Summary.
  1. Pick the Board and Calendar.
  1. Adjust the settings below, check the live preview, then Save report.

For the shared basics (saving, presets, export, and report layouts), see Reports Manager.

Settings for this report

  • Print options and Report layout: paper size, orientation, pagination, and the header/footer layout.
  • Elements: choose which element categories appear and how they display (text size, columns, quantities).
  • Visibility options (specific to this report):
    • Show red flags and Show orange flags.
    • Show images: include the reference images from your breakdown sheets, and set Image columns (how many across). These come from what you've added on each sheet, see Adding images to breakdown sheets.
    • Show weather info: include the weather and sunrise/sunset details for the day.
    • One scene per page: start each scene on its own page.
  • Date / day range and Filters: limit the report to a date/day range and show or hide scenes with rules.

Note: the Breakdown Summary has no Strips section, since it's organized by scene rather than by stripboard order.
