Crossboarding is scheduling across more than one unit, block, or episode within a single Cinapse file. It lets multiple 1st ADs build their own boards in the same file and share days across units.
How crossboarding works
When you're crossboarding, have each 1st AD work on their own board within the same file:
- If you're sharing a day, drag and drop strips from another block, unit, or episode into your board.
- When someone creates a new strip on one board, it appears in every other board's Scrapyard; from there you can pull it onto your stripboard or leave it in the Scrapyard.
- Your 2nd AD can clean up background numbers, the Day/Night (D/N) breakdown, or page counts from the script supervisor's report, all in the same live file.
Scrapyard = the holding area on each board where unplaced or newly created strips collect until you drop them onto the stripboard.
Crossboarding works alongside Cinapse's real-time collaboration; see Sharing a schedule & collaborating for how to invite your team and work the same file together.
