The Scrapyard acts as storage for strips you do not want in your active board. This can be scenes that are omitted, that have already been shot, that are from a different episode or block, etc.
The Scrapyard is key for crossboarding in Episodic Files.
- A strip created in one board will automatically appear in ALL THE OTHER Board Scrapyards.
- For example: A strip created in the “Sequential 603 Board” (Board A), will populate in the boneyards for the “Block 603/605 Prelim Board” (Board B) and “Sequential 605 Board” (Board C). From the boneyard, you can move the strip into Board B’s Stripboard or Unscheduled work, or leave it in the boneyard if you don’t need it.
To move a strip from the Stripboard to the Scrapyard (or vice-versa), right-click and select “move to scrapyard” or “move to stripboard”. Alternatively, if you are in split-panel view you can simply drag and drop the desired strips from the Stripboard panel into the Scrapyard panel and vice versa.
Strips in the Scrapyard can still be rearranged by dragging and dropping and Breakdown sheets and their elements can be adjusted. You can also create a specific report from selected strips in the Scrapyard, if desired.
