Cinapse lets you control who can see and change a production. Everyone you add gets a role that determines what they can do, from full control down to view-only. To give someone read-only access, set their role to Viewer.
The roles
- Owner: full control of the production. Edit the file, create and manage permission sets, manage all users, and delete the production. Each production has one owner.
- Editor: everything an Owner can do, except delete the production.
- Breakdown Sheet Editor: can edit breakdown sheets, create reports, and edit events (most of what an Editor can do), but cannot reorder the schedule (change the order of strips).
- Viewer (Read-Only): can view everything in the file, with no ability to make changes.
Inviting people and setting their role
Inside a production, click the Members button in the top-right corner to open the Members section. From there you can invite someone and choose their role, and you can add, remove, or change anyone's role at any time.
When you invite someone, they show as invite pending until they accept. Once they accept, they appear alongside your other active users in the production.
Custom permission sets
On Studio plans and above, you can create custom permission sets to tailor access beyond the standard roles.
Transferring ownership
Only the Owner can transfer ownership to someone else, and it's done outside the production: go to your My Productions page, right-click the production, and choose Transfer ownership.
