Deleted a project by accident, or a schedule, board, or stripboard has gone missing (disappeared, vanished, or just isn't where you left it)? First, take a breath: in most cases your work is still safe. A “lost” schedule is very often a sync or session hiccup, not an actual deletion; and if your schedule is on a paid production plan, it can't have been deleted (more on that below). Run through the quick checks first; if it really was deleted, our team can usually recover it.
First, try these quick checks (most “lost” schedules come back here)
1. Log out and back in. The most common cause of a schedule “disappearing” is that your session quietly timed out after a long stretch of work, so your latest changes hadn't finished syncing back to your screen. Fully log out, then log back in; in most cases the file and your work reappear right where you left them.
2. Check that you're in the right account. If you have more than one production or email address, make sure you're logged into the account the schedule lives under. A schedule that looks “gone” is sometimes just under a different login.
3. Look on your My Files page. Open My Files and scan the full list, including any folders. A file that was renamed, moved, or is further down the list can read as “missing” at a glance.
4. Do a hard refresh. A stale page can hide a file that's actually there:
- Mac: ⌘ + Shift + R
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R
Auto-save: Cinapse saves your work automatically as you go; watch the cloud icon: orange means changes are still saving, green means saved and synced. You rarely lose more than a moment's work. If recent changes look missing right after the app closed or reloaded, give it a moment to finish syncing, then log out and back in (step 1).
Good news if you're on a paid plan
Deleting a schedule is permanent, and only the owner of a schedule can delete it. To protect your work, deletion is turned off entirely for schedules on a paid production plan — so if your schedule is on a paid production, it can't have been deleted. If it seems missing, it's an access or sync issue: run the quick checks above, and see Sharing a schedule & collaborating to confirm you still have access.
If a schedule really was deleted
There's no button inside Cinapse to restore a deleted project, schedule, board, or stripboard yourself yet — self-serve version history is on our roadmap for Q3 2026. In the meantime, our team can often recover deleted work for you. Recovery isn't guaranteed and isn't instant, so reach out as soon as you notice, while the data is freshest.
Email support@cinapse.io and include:
- The project / production name.
- What was deleted: the whole project, a specific schedule or board, or a single stripboard (and its name, e.g. “Ep 5” or “107/108 Yellow”).
- Roughly when it was deleted, and whether it was accidental or it just went missing.
- The email address you use to log in.
When we recover a deleted board or stripboard, we typically restore it into a clone of your file and share that copy back to you, so you can confirm everything looks right before continuing.
A few things that help us help you faster
- Reach out quickly: the sooner you tell us, the better the odds of a clean recovery.
- Avoid heavily editing the affected file while you wait, so we have a clean version to work from.
- If you have a recent PDF or report export of the schedule, attach it; it helps us confirm what should be there.
