Why does Cinapse keep refreshing or won't load?

Cinapse keeps refreshing, won't load, or is stuck in a reload loop? Here's how to get back to work fast.

If Cinapse keeps refreshing, reloads on its own, gets stuck loading, won't open, or shows a blank schedule (often called a reload loop or refresh loop), it's almost always one of a few things, and most are quick to fix. Work through these in order.

1. Use a supported browser

Cinapse works best on Chrome or Brave (or any Chromium-based browser). Reload loops most often show up on Safari and Firefox, which aren't fully supported; if you're on one of those, switch to Chrome or Brave to get back to work.

2. Give your files a moment to load

After you sign in (or switch browsers), your files download in the background, usually about a minute on a larger schedule. If a file looks empty at first, give it a moment before refreshing.

3. Do a hard refresh

A hard refresh clears the stale version of the page:

  • Mac: ⌘ + Shift + R
  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R

4. Check your connection and the save indicator

The cloud icon shows whether your work is saving:

  • Green cloud: saved and synced.
  • Orange cloud: you're offline; changes are saved locally on your device and will sync when you reconnect.
  • Red cloud: there's a problem saving; check your connection and try a hard refresh.

Stay on the page until you're back online and your changes sync. For extra peace of mind, you can also download your schedule as a .cinapse backup file. See Does Cinapse work offline? for more.

Still stuck in a reload loop?

Some reload loops are temporary and happen on our end right after a release; they usually clear within a few minutes. If it keeps happening:

  • Make sure you're on Chrome or Brave (step 1).

💡 If a specific large file is slow to open (rather than the whole app reloading), it may need optimizing; see Why is my file slow, or “too large”?
